Hamilton's Role in Ontario's Autism Care System

Hamilton is home to one of Ontario's regional diagnostic hubs. McMaster Children's Hospital, through the Ron Joyce Children's Health Centre, hosts the West Region Autism Spectrum Disorder Diagnostic Hub, where children from Hamilton and much of Southwestern Ontario are referred for formal autism assessment. If your family is going through that process, or already has, private ABA therapy is a practical next step for starting support.

After the diagnosis: A diagnosis from McMaster or another qualified professional makes Ontario Autism Program registration possible, but registration and active funding aren't the same thing. In-home ABA therapy can fill that gap so your child can begin building skills at home while funding is pending. Hamilton's wider clinical infrastructure, including child-health and development research at McMaster University, can remain part of your family's broader support network.

Right Fit?

Is In-Home Therapy Right for Your Child?

Hamilton families typically reach out to us when:

Their child has a diagnosis from McMaster Children's Hospital or another provider and they want to start therapy now.

A daycare or Hamilton-Wentworth school has flagged social or communication concerns.

They want consistent, one-on-one support rather than a rotating team.

Commuting across the escarpment to a fixed clinic location isn't realistic.

Behind the Scenes

How We Deliver It

Certified therapist + BCBA oversight

A certified ABA therapist delivers your child's sessions in person, building consistency over time. Our BCBA designs the program from a direct assessment, sets specific goals, and reviews progress regularly. Supervision is frequently conducted virtually, keeping oversight tight without adding extra visits.

Designed for your actual home

Sessions adapt to whatever your home looks like, whether that's a house on the Mountain, a townhouse in Stoney Creek, or an apartment closer to downtown. Your therapist works with the routines and space your child already knows.
