ABA Parent Coaching Services in Ontario, Canada
You're with your child far more hours than any therapist ever will be. Our parent coaching program in Ontario teaches you the exact strategies our team uses — how to prompt, how to reinforce, how to respond to a meltdown in the moment — so progress from therapy doesn't stall the second a session ends.

What Is Parent Coaching?
Parent coaching is hands-on training that teaches you the specific ABA strategies used in your child's therapy program, so you can apply them consistently at home — during meals, transitions, play, and the everyday moments therapy sessions don't cover. It's not generic parenting advice; it's the same techniques your child's therapist uses, broken down and adapted so you can use them confidently and consistently too.
Is Parent Coaching Right for Your Family?
Parent coaching is genuinely valuable when:
Your child is already receiving ABA therapy and you want to reinforce progress at home between sessions.
You're managing challenging behaviours — meltdowns, aggression, refusal — and want a consistent, effective response plan.
You're trying to improve communication with a child who is non-verbal or has limited language.
You're on a waitlist for full therapy services and want to start building skills at home right now.
You feel like you're guessing what to do and want strategies grounded in what's actually working in your child's sessions.
How We Deliver It
BCBA-led, virtual or in person
Parent coaching sessions can be delivered virtually or in person, and are often led directly by our BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). We walk through real situations from your week, show you exactly what to do differently, and check in on how it went next time. When in-home practice is useful, a trained ABA therapist reinforces the same strategies during regular visits so coaching and therapy stay aligned.
What a coaching session actually looks like
Rather than lecture-style advice, sessions usually start with a specific situation from your week — a mealtime meltdown, a transition that keeps going wrong, or a communication attempt that isn't landing. We break down the strategy step by step and often practise it together in real time, sometimes with your child present. You leave with something concrete to try before the next check-in.
How we track progress together
Each session starts with a quick check on how the last strategy went, what worked, and what needs adjusting. Your BCBA keeps notes on which approaches are landing for your specific child and family, so coaching evolves based on real results instead of repeating the same suggestions regardless of outcome.

Why Parent Coaching Makes a Real Difference
Whole-Day Consistency
Use the same effective strategies across your child's whole day, not only while a therapist is present.
Direct BCBA-Level Strategy
Work with clinical expertise directly, not a watered-down version filtered through someone else.
Practical, Not Theoretical
Bring real situations from your actual week instead of relying on generic scripts that don't fit your family.
Works Alongside Therapy
Reinforce what your child is already working on at home, at daycare, or through virtual sessions.
Funding Your Coaching Sessions
Parent coaching can often be included as part of a broader ABA therapy plan funded through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) or private extended health benefits. See our Ontario Autism Program guide, or ask during your free consultation. Coaching pairs naturally with ABA therapy at home and is a core part of early intervention. Many families begin with coaching alone while deciding whether more intensive in-home therapy is needed.
Where We Provide Parent Coaching
We offer parent coaching to families across Ontario, in person or virtually, with many families based in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
Frequently Asked Questions
No — parent coaching can stand on its own, especially if you're on a waitlist for full services or just want strategies for specific behaviours right now.
Both are available. Many families find virtual sessions easier to fit into a busy week, and coaching translates well to video since it's about strategy and practice, not hands-on delivery.
Sessions are often led directly by our BCBA, so you're working with the same person designing the clinical strategy — not a summary passed down through someone else.
Not usually — it works best alongside direct therapy, like in-home or daycare-based sessions, by extending those strategies into the rest of your child's day.
It varies by family and behaviour, but most parents notice a shift in how situations play out within the first few sessions, simply from having a clear, consistent plan to follow.
